FUNDING PATHWAYS
We Fund Resilience
Our aim is to raise funds to allow us to support other projects and initiatives that are closely aligned to our ethos. Whether that be the provision of bikes to refugees, introductory bikepacking events for groups which promote more diversity and inclusivity in the world of bikes or helping cancer patients gain access to two wheeled respite.
Funding will be raised primarily through the sale of merchandise, donations and positively encouraging riders to find the limit of their own resilience by undertaking community fundraising challenges. Think long distance bikepacking rides, Everesting, or even subjecting yourself to a 24 hour turbo session.
We are also pro-actively exploring corporate affiliation by working with businesses who want to be a force for good and have a strong sense of advocacy.
WHERE DO ANY PROFITS GO?
Profits will be donated to projects that support our core ethos, reinvested into our storytelling work and our staff.
STAFFING
Whilst we don’t currently have anyone “on the books” so to speak, we believe that anyone doing a great job should be compensated fairly. Our current aim is to have the equivalent of one person do 16 hours a week. Staffing is without a doubt our biggest cost, so we do rely heavily on the energy and willingness of volunteers.
PAYING IT FORWARD
A proportion of profits will be used to help fund other charities, CICs or upstarts with a goal and ethos closely aligned to ours, with the consent of the CIC regulator. E.g:
The Bike Network, providing repurposed bikes to cancer patients
The Bike Project, providing bikes and training to refugees following human displacement
Sisters in the Wild, a movement introducing more diversity into the world of bikepacking
The list is endless…
STORYTELLING
Some profits will be used to cover the RIDER RESILIENCE’s storytelling and associated costs to ensure we can deliver as much high quality inspiration as possible across a multitude of media platforms.
It will cover:
Travel to record face to face interviews with riders who have an inspirational story to share. Don’t worry - we like sleeping in vans!
The cost of editing this into compelling YouTube episodes with optional long cut podcasts accompanying them.
Website hosting.
Associated monthly subscription services (covering free of rights music, online interview recording software, etc.).
Camera and audio recording equipment.
So donate today, to help us keep our wheels rolling and to allow others to #RideItOut. Afterall, #BikesAreMedicine
