Elite Level Racing With A (Hidden) Disability

James was starved of oxygen at birth and as a result became diagnosed with Monoplegia, which is an acute form of Cerebral Palsy, combined with Dyspraxia, or developmental co-ordination disorder (DCD), which affects physical co-ordination

Our interview covers how riding bikes made him feel normal, if not more able than his peers at a young age and the very first ride when he noticed bikes offered him a degree of escapism. We chat about how finding the sport has given him a degree of routine and focus to stay upbeat and what he would do if he suddenly could no longer ride.

We delve into why James has decided to "go public" with his condition despite it not being immediately evident to strangers, and any advice he has for anyone who find themselves in a similar situation.
