Share Your Story: How Cycling Helps You

At Rider Resilience, we believe in the power of cycling to transform lives. We've seen firsthand how the simple act of riding a bike can provide solace, strength, and resilience during challenging times. Now, we're excited to announce a new initiative with Kendal College that aims to capture and share more inspiring stories.

We've partnered with a talented group of A Level students from Kendal College who are eager to help you tell your story. These students will serve as ghostwriters, ready to listen to your experiences and craft them into compelling narratives that will be featured on the Rider Resilience website in our “stories” section.

Whether cycling has helped you cope with personal loss, overcome physical or mental health challenges, or simply provided a much-needed escape during difficult times, we want to hear from you. Your story will inspire others who are facing similar struggles and highlight the incredible impact that cycling can have on all our lives.

How to Participate?

  • Submit Your Story: Email us - info@riderresilience.org with a brief summary of your cycling journey and how it has helped you through difficult times. Use the subject line “Story Telling Project” and include your name and contact details.  If you would like your story to be anonymised, we are more than happy to accommodate, just let us know.

  • Connect with a Student Writer: In September we will review all submissions and introduce you to one of our dedicated student writers from Kendal College. They will work with you over a period of three months to understand your story in depth, and write it in a way that captures your unique experience.

  • Share and Inspire: Your completed story will be published on the Rider Resilience website in the new year, where it can inspire and encourage our community of cyclists and beyond.

Why Participate?

  • Inspire Others: Your story will provide hope and motivation to someone going through a difficult time.

  • Preserve Your Journey: Working with a student writer, you’ll have the opportunity to create a lasting narrative of your experiences.

  • Support Education: By participating, you’re also supporting the educational journey of young writers, giving them real-world experience in storytelling and developing their empathetic and listening skills.
